![]() ![]() Quidditch, which is the first game you'll experience while on the Weasleys' farm, is simply a matter of pointing the Wii Remote at the screen and guiding Potter, or whoever else it may be, through a series of stars, with each star passed through leaving you closer to catching the Golden Snitch. Unfortunately, the games themselves are of a poor quality, and really fail to flesh out the title in any significant way. Players must mix potions, duel with friends and foes and still manage to show up for Quidditch practice and games. With the summer's biggest and most anticipated movie almost upon us, now is the time for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to cast its spell on gamers and provide the magical experience the franchise has been lacking on the computer screen.įrom a gameplay point of view, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince features a number of what are essentially minigames, set against the backdrop of a typical year at Hogwarts. It's not been all bad though, the Transformers game was decent, despite a few problems, Ice Age 3 made some really positive steps in the right direction, while Wolverine and co. Digital Spy has already been fortunate enough to watch and review some of the summer's finest films, while the gaming team has been busy playing through a selection of the much derided and dreaded movie spinoffs. While the summer signals a dry spell for gardeners and gamers, moviegoers are spoilt for choice with a feast of blockbusters hitting the silver screen. We also found that flying on a broomstick had improved from previous games. Also available on: Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, DS, PC ![]() Likewise, the navigation is easier because you always have an option of calling up Nearly Headless Nick (a ghost) to lead you through the castle. The wizard dueling is easier than in earlier games because the controls are more responsive (especially on the Wii) and you can now move Harry while he is casting magic spells. And many of the actors have lent their voice talents to the game including Rupert Grint as Ron and Bonnie Wright as Ginny. What the game does well is provide realistic animations of all of the actors from the movie – you can even see emotion on the characters' faces. It is not as deep as previous games in this one you will basically be brewing potions, dueling using magic, and flying during Quidditch. Because the story is compacted, it might not make sense to those who have not read the source book or seen the movie on which it is based. Because it is an easy game and relatively short (about 8-10 hours in the story mode), it is not a good fit for video game enthusiasts. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a good game for kids and casual gamers who are fans of Harry Potter.
